Gossip, 15x11", Oil on Canvas
This painting shows women who are always in the spotlight especially when people talk about their previous life and love spreading gossip and rumours about them. What cheek! It’s none of their business. Isn’t it?

Mirror, 26x18", Oil on Canvas
This painting shows a woman looking at her reflection in a mirror but the mirror reflects only the physical appearance and not the real personality.

Temptation, 26x19", Oil on Canvas
This painting shows a woman exposing her naked body deliberately. Men are often tempted by her glamour and can’t resist her temptation. I think it’s a body without soul. No emotions, no feelings, nothing but only a way to earn money. In my opinion, life is worth living with dignity. Isn’t it?

2007 Art in the Park, Ottawa, ON
2003 “Achievement Project” sponsored by Jordanian University, exhibition proceeds donated to aid orphans in need, Intercontinental Hotel, Amman, Jordan
2002 “No War” sponsored by Sands Showroom, Engineering Syndicate, Amman, Jordan

SELECTED SOLO SHOWS:
2008 “The Hope” Galerie Bruyère Gallery, Ottawa, Ontario
2003 “Colored Spaces” sponsored by the Jordanian Parliament the First Deputy Speaker, Olympia Hotel, Amman, Jordan
2002 “Sea waves” sponsored by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture on the occasion “Amman 2002 the Arab Cultural Capital”, Royal Cultural Centre, Amman, Jordan

Noura Debbouche’s Biography
During her childhood, she usually spent her summer holidays at her uncles’ house in the countryside where life was very simple but very exciting. She was attracted by the fascinating landscapes in the country; the mountains, the plants, the fields, the trees, the animals, the fresh air, the river and the feeling of spaciousness. All that had affected her in anyway. She was fortunate to have many adventures there. Everything was attractive and fascinating. The River which crosses the country where lived birds was bright but not very deep, ducks and some species of fish swimming inside. She was fond of watching with admiration the wonderful sunrise and sunset, the stars which shine and twinkle so high in the darkness of the night because her uncles’ wives used candles and oil-lamps. On the whole, everything was particular that natural way of life pleased her and she enjoyed her childhood experiences there.
She often wondered how would all those views become if they were painted. Since then, she began to paint by instinct. When she was a student at the Middle School, Noura drew pictures for her oldest sister who is a teacher of English. She used them in class as visual aids.
She didn’t study art and she didn’t graduate from any school of art however, she is a highly skilled painter and she uses her fingers to mix colors and paint instead of the brush. Noura feels herself like a bird that learns to fly by instinct.

Exhibition in the Fakher Al-Nesa’ Zaid Hall of the Royal Cultural Center
The Algerian Artist Noura Debbouche, presents the Spaces of the Legend Through Different Techniques Addustour – Mohammed Al-AAmeri
Two days ago, at the Fakher Al-Nesa’ Zaid Hall at the Royal Cultural Center, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tarawna, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Culture, opened the personal exhibition of the artist Noura Debbouche, Born in 1973 in Ain-Makhlouf, Guelma, Algeria.
Noura’s ‘Sea Waves’ Exhibition was her first experience in Jordan as she presented a combination of her art works in two approaches, using different techniques: modeling pastes, multi-colors, scraping and carving.
In the first approach, her painting appeared like a mythical carving in a popular context which was represented by symbols, letters and simplified human forms, using the square as a space for her artistic style. The square formed the principal shape for the distribution and movement of the artistic elements within the pictorial surface. The square also was changing the movement by following different paths, combining symbols and spontaneous lines creating a visual three-dimensional texture close to a graphic-design work.
As for the second approach, it was represent by the abstract school and impressionism, which basically dealt with bright and hot colors, with strong limitations issued directly from the tube of colors in order to form separation lines between the color surfaces.
In the previous, Debbouche’s work appeared to be firmer, more dynamic and more complete. We could notice the richness of this work on the pictorial surface through texture variation and color harmony. The viewer could simply notice the artist’s talent, which could pave the road for upcoming artistic projects. Although it was her first experience in Jordan, she was able to present herself by expressing an artistic sadness through which she tried to find her own identity.
