I am a self-taught artist.
My inspiration is drawn from many sources including nature, emotions, architecture, metaphors, history, the abstract, places, symbolism, illusion and interpreted in my own way.
The paintings I do are acrylics; mixed-media on canvas with sea, landscape and emotional themes. Seeking to capture the beauty, light and spirit of places and emotion. Other paintings portray a more contemporary abstract, organic and textured approach with a spontaneous feel. Colour and sweeping brushstrokes all convey a certain energy to my paintings. Subtle nuances give suggestion to something familiar.
Implementing certain ideas, thoughts and emotions in the beginning do not necessarily stay that way. I enjoy the surprises of creating work subconsciously sometimes. I aim to let the viewer connect and feel these places (emotions), both real and imaginary. I hope to portray work that is timeless and beyond boundary's of a trend , where you may feel inspired and uplifted.
