Aleksandar was born in Croatia, 1975. In 2002 he completed BA Illustration at University of
Derby and in 2007 MA Media Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University. Aside from his work as
an artist, Aleksandar also works with adults and children as a lecturer at university and a
college teacher. He has also had his illustrations publlished in a number of high profile
publications including The Independent. He has a knowledge of print production and animation
processes. He has produced booklets, leaflets, posters, magazine editorials, illustrations,
websites and animations.
“I am very much interested in existentialism, impressionism, cubism and most of the
other isms. When creating artwork, I am not thinking about style but rather how and what I
want to achieve. I am very much interested in “how things work” and I investigate
this in some aspects of form, shape and colour.
“I find that there is more in essence of the things than in their appearance. My motifs
are people, things and places that have left impressions on me.”
Aleksandar posses great enthusiasm for working both within a group or on his own. He is very
proud of his work and full of new ideas with variety of approaches towards the projects.
Aleksandar is interested in all areas of art and design and constantly experimenting with
different media. He is an experienced user of both PC & Apple Macintosh platforms, with
excellent knowledge of packages such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver (CSS) and Flash
