Martin is well known by many as the "Wave Man" because of the large, multiple canvas, "surf wave" paintings that began when he was the resident artist at a Portsmouth Gallery in 2001.
Martin has sold his wave paintings to many parts of the world but, despite the growing success of his nautical work, it would be wrong to think that the sea and boats are all that Martin can paint. He has undertaken many other subjects and has a love of painting rivers and the countryside.
