Outline
In art, the term outline refers to the lines real or apparent by which a figure (or shape) is defined in or bounded by the plane of vision; the sum of these lines forming the contour of the figure. Outline can also refer to sketch or drawing in which an object is represented by lines of contour without shading; omitting interior detail. Outline is the apparent edge of an object made into a meaningful reference on the paper by a number of marks.
