Volynets Julia (1976) was born in Belarus in an artist family. After graduating from the
Academy of Fine Arts ,Minsk she specialized in grafic and paint techniques. She lives and
works in Belgium since 2002.
Central theme in her art is her fascination for the inner and external beauty of man. Het
serials Portraits and Dreams depict abstract characters with their own stories and
experiences. The serial Symmetry of Contrarieties tells about juxtapositions between youth and
adulthood, sping and fall, male and female, sadness and joy. What about Love? depicts erotic
scenes between abstract figures.
Characterizing the work of Volynets is her use of a subtle color scheme, symbolic silhouets,
constructive compositions and an emotional atmosphere filled with phylosophical reflection
about man and his perception of the world.
